Happy Deepavali..

Happy Deepavali to all my readers.

I always wonder whats the difference between diwali and deepavali..if any one knows let me know..

Is it a boon or bane..

50 is a reality no more a value just for ease of calculation,

50 is a boon no more a night mare for NRIs,

50 is a bane for people buying petrol in India,

What good will it do

What good will it do especially after the last fiasco with with Karnataka govt.

Raman Andalum Ravanan Andalum Ennaku oru illai

Yes its true politician don’t have a permanent foes especially in my gr8 state of Tamil Nadu. With the elections coming I’m sure we will see more foes becoming friends.

Already Mr.Vaiko has joined in alliance with Miss. Jayalalitha’s AIADMK which threw him in Jail for a year for supporting LTTE inside India. I remember him and his friends like Seeman calling her names but today I saw a news that she is extending her support for the Eelam cause and wondering what will be the reaction from Mr.Seeman.

Will he take her support if she forms the government in TN? I guess he will since every one is a opportunists.

Truth is I don’t give a damn who rules the state because every one swindles peoples money.

Irony

Here is an article that I was reading today which basically says that Indian chefs are welcome in UK but not IT workers.

Soon after that I was wondering if Veera Pandiya Kattabomman welcomed any of them to his kingdom. Time changes lot..:)

Started again..

Yes once again I have started reading about the events that lead to Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination and its effects. I’m not sure when I’m gonna stop reading about this and get over it. I have been doing this ever since the incident and it can be credited for my avid interest to read newspapers.

Yes my relatives used to buy me newspaper as a gift funny but true.

Well the trigger today was this movie called Kuppi which was in the latest viewed films in Tubetamil.com website. I have already seen this movie and director has to be appreciated for taking up such a well know story that the whole world knows in a good way with out boring the viewers and telling the story without any bias. Wonderful acting by the casts and movie resembles the exact situation in 90′s TN.

This kind of real life incident movies have to be welcomed rather than the same old love story and commercial movies in tamil. It would be nice if some one makes the movie from Rajiv Gandhis point of view but then there would be too much of political interruption which would screw up the movie.

I have seen 2 other tamil movies based on the same incident but Kuppi stands out better. The other 2 being

  • Terrorists by Santosh Sivan with english subtitles. Its a cinematographers movie gr8 camera work but too slow and boring except few scenes. A typical documentary and you will amazed how beautiful back waters in TN are.
  • Kutrapathirikai by R.K Selvamani I would recommend not viewing it too much of commercial ingredient. Although I dont undestand why this movie was banned for more than 10 years may be the Censor thought it was a lack luster attempt by director and didn’t want some thing like this to be released.

Here is a Google book that I’m currently reading which gives a basic understanding of India’s role in Srilanka’s ethnic conflict. If you are interested here is the dreaded Jain commission report which is too boring and repetitive.

I would have done a podcast but too lazy to do it today may be some time later when I’m done reading to my content.

When will Indian politicians be like this

I’m wondering how long it will take for Indian politicians to keep aside politics and come together like in US for a day.

We Indians follow the west a lot , boast about every successful NRI living in the west and compare everything with US.

If it has already with out my knowledge plz let me know.

No Smoking..

My dear Smoker’s,

If you haven’t heard the news that you can’t legally smoke inside your office/restrooms in India any more. The law will be effective Oct 2 2008 and its a good initiative by the government.

Passing law is an easier task but implementing it properly is always been a problem since Independence. For e.g the reservation law that was supposed to be effective only for 10 years, traffic laws who cares you are cursed if you respect them, bribery is illegal in India ….etc.

Rather than having a law that makes it illegal to smoke inside office they could have charged the smokers in order to use the smoke room. It would avoid some cheap people from borrowing cigarette’s every time from the smokers as well :) .

Fake Currencies

One more way a citizen can be mugged. Check this article.

Isn’t it the responsibility of the bank to check the validity of currency before circulating it?  Shouldn’t they compensate for the money the account holder has lost?

I’m not a lawyer so I will have to assume the reporter has done is job good but who knows TimesofIndia is known for publishing baseless stories.

We are 61

Yes today its India 61st Independence day  and I’m sure every one who reads my blog knows it any way.

I’m not a big time nationalist and India has its own internal issues like poverty, corruption, reservation and every thing else that we all know off. But the one issue that India should never face any more in future is the secession of states from the Union of India. Every one knows about the Telangana, Khalistan and even the Tamil separatist movement (total crap) during 60s.

I personally won’t encourage it because as the states separate they become weaker. If a problem cant be eradicated easily in a bigger state with lot of resources how come a smaller state can do that? Yeah you can throw in the concept that its easy to maintain smaller parts but not @ the cost of getting pushed around by powerful countries. Literally you dont have a say in anything.

Look @ Georgia now its getting bullied by Russia like a piece of junk.

Come on India the 2nd largest populated country doesn’t have a veto @ UN but other smaller countries have it. India cant dictate terms in International arena then how come a smaller nation that seceded from India is going to some respect. They will mostly be forced to choose a side and then comes the proxy war between nations.

I was there for the 50th lets hope I make to the 100th in Aug 15th 2047A.D.

I have so much to say on this I will do a podcast later on this topic..
