Past dies as we speak Future comes as we speak present is what we speak

She is back…

Yes finally I got my unlock code for my buggy but gr8 Tmobile SDA phone.

Its unlocked now but it did put up a show of not showing me any signs of activity, not even a single blimp. I was damn pissed after spending so much time to get the correct unlock code from Tmobile. Good they trained at least one person to do the work properly others weren’t gr8 and always had problem understanding when I give out the IMEI number.

On a scale of 10 I was pissed 100 thats how mad I was when my phone didn’t show any signs of life. Now I know y people get mad for small issues.

Beware people U have been warned..

its been more than 2 year since I got the phone and still good..one good product from Microsoft..

I Vote for Spry 1.6

Well Spry is the new JavaScript library from Adobe. I always had trouble working with AJAX and with Spry its so much easier to implement AJX calls and effects.

There are JavaScript library like jquery, moo tools etc that does the same job. The one huge difference between them and Spry is they all are object oriented design and Spry is tag based programming. Since I’m a Coldfusion programmer its easier for me to adapt to tag based then remembering all the methods.

Some features that I like about Spry:

  • Paging
  • Form validations.
  • Supports HTML data sets as well. Makes it easier for me format the data in a table rather than XML and can be loaded along with the page. Spry makes any data region within the same page as invisible. Moreover this way we don’t have to make a AJAX call since the data is already available in the page. This method is useful  for country, state list or any static drop list box that gets info from a DB.

Its still in beta and it has already bet my expectation hope they will come up with more goodies and make my life easier.

Plantronics Voyager 520

Its been a long time since I have posted to my blog. I have become more lazy now a days that’s the reason. Well I recently upgraded my Bluetooth headset to Plantronics Voyager 520.

I had a Plantronics Voyager 510 a big fan of that device and the best in the market till to date for the cost. I got the 510 for 45 bugs 18 months before I didn’t have a single problem and lot of my friends got that and are really satisfied with it. But the 510 couldn’t survive my rough handling so the windscreen got broken a month before. Since the Plantronics started offering the voyager 520 I decided to go for it.

It was really tough finding Voyager 520 in stock as it always ran out of stock at many sites I ordered. Finally I got mine from a site called www.chumbo.com for 60$.

Here is a picture of comparing the voyager series size with orbitz chewing gum. The Plantronics voyager 520 has been reviewed by so many time by pros on the web. I will basically tell you the pros and cons of 520 over 510.

Voyager 520 in its desktop Charger

Pros:

  • Its smaller than the Voyager 510.
  • Has a talk time of 8hrs.2 hrs more than 510 although my 510 talk time went down after a 6 months of use to 3 – 4hrs still good.
  • Feels light and won’t even notice it if you R used to wearing the 510 for long time.
  • Seamlessly connects with my Laptop and phones.

Cons:

  • USB charger is not part of package its available as a accessory. It would have been good if they have shipped it along with the package like the Discovery 655 BT headset.
  • No improvements over 510 in range.Still causes static once I cross 20 feet from source.
  • The volume control is little hard to press especially when increasing the volume sometimes I end up disconnecting the call.
  • No big improvements in wind noise canceling same as 510.

If you are looking for a mid range Bluetooth headset that connects with almost any Bluetooth device around the price range of 50$ – 60$ then this is the headset for you. if you have decided to buy Plantronics Voyager 510 then you can certainly buy 520 which has longer talk time and smaller.

I will attach a voice test Mp3 file later.

Thx

Firefox 2.0 Plugins I like..

Lots of Firefox plugins out there but here r 2 plugins that O like very much.I would like everybody to give it a shot especially if ur a web developer.

Google Browser Sync:

Its a bookmark manager for firefox from Google which syncs info between PC’s.It basically stores these information in google server and authentication is through gmail login, password and a unique pin number pair.

  • Bookmarks
  • Cookies
  • History
  • Saved passwords
  • Tabs and windows opened.

Some might be worried abt privacy issues but u can choose what to store and they have an encrypt option; Not sure how good it is.Atleast we could use it to store the bookmarks and access it everywhere there is net.

Web Developer Extension:

Its a handy plugin which basically shows almost every info about a web page.I Find it very helpful

  • To delete cookies for each individual pages.
  • To view form fields information without opening the selection source.
  • And it has a inbuild WYSIWUG html editor inbuild.
  • And it has got lots of more functions that prevents me from viewing the Source and searching through them.
