I was caught unaware, unprepared and without guard when it bit me.
Yes, today I was bitten by a huge bill of 120$ of data charge for 12,000KB of data for my ATT wireless phone service. So thats roughly a penny per kilobyte which is one of the costliest KB that I have ever paid for in my life.
Probably my new phone N85 should have connected to the internet without my knowledge during the initial days of buying it.
If you don’t intend to use data over wireless please call your provider immediately and block/opt-out of it A.S.A.P because one day or the other you will be bitten by this bug and it will be painful.
BTW my friends have warned me about this for a some time but I didn’t care about it much but today I feel the pain.

BTW this wouldn’t happen in India because data plans are too cheap then here.
Its been quite a while since I switched my wordpress theme to a different one. I changed some time in march and there were some issues with IE browser so reverted.
This time I have decided not to change the theme for IE issues alone. I’m done playing games for IE.
As far as the new theme its still boring as the old one but this blog is ain’t for some media blog so I will live with this one for some time.
Too much of rambling for a simple theme change.. so the 1 or 2 users who read this boring post please leave a comment if you have any UI issues other than IE seriously..
Lately I have been playing around with Railo 3.1 in my Ubuntu 9 and believe me its super fast even in my single core centrino Thinkpad R50e laptop !!!!!
No offense to Adobe CF8 last time I tried to install and use Coldbox it just kept on giving me the blue screen of death.Not sure what caused the issue but my system is damn old so I can’t blame any one.
There are so many nice features in Railo which many of discussedhere. Personally I like the cfdump eval and the debugging templates. Once it gets the complete BlazeDS integration done then it will be best of CFML engines out there.
Well the title explains it all. After using my IBM Thinkpad R50e for almost 3.7 years after
10 – 20 times of complete crash downs.
Backing up and recovering every time.
Slow system which wouldn’t allow me to use Eclipse or Dreamweaver or run my fav coldfusion server CF8/Railo 3.
Upgrading my Ram to max 2 gb.
I don’t hate XP but the software’s in this current world has made my laptop work like a 6 moths old Netbook.
All these have forced me to finally try out Ubuntu 9.04 OS instead of XP. All though there was a pretty big learning curve to use Ubuntu but it has been fruitful so far with all my required software running fine without any performance hit. I still have to figure out how to fix the Flash full screen lag issue with Ubuntu 9.04 and my system expect that everything looks gr8.
If you have enough patience,time and old laptop u still want to use please try out Ubuntu out which has gr8 UI.

Obviously the first place to feel the effect is the closest to the center that’s Srilanka where BBC has reported that Velupillai Prabhakaran leader of LTTE has been killed. Although it could be rumor as usual but pretty much LTTE will be taken of the equation from now on in Srilanka.

I was totally shocked and surprised by this sudden move of the current CM of Tamil Nadu M Karunanidhi to go on an indefinite fastunto death today to bring a ceasefire between srilanka and ltte.
That too after J Jayalalithaa declared she would strive to form Eelam if she wins the 40 seats.
Sooner or later some one is going to promise we will rename Tamil Nadu to Eelam if we form the government in central. We still got solid 17 days before D day so any thing can happen people be on the watch out…
If I’m right these 2 parties AIDMK and DMK ruled Tamil Nadu for last 30 years ,were part of most governments in central and this war has been going for last 30 years.
What are the odds of this scenario happening and a solution not being found for last 30 years?

But its pretty simple especially for Indian police just change the press conference to a near by Hindu temple where shoes/slippers are not allowed inside and you are safe.

Yes people it doesn’t happen all time to me but this year 2009 I’m walking the road that I decided to go through 4 months ago.

Lose that 10 pounds that I gained last year. I have already started working on it and lost 3 7 pounds in a month so I expect to lose that 10 by end of April 2009. Its slow but works for me.
Get my parents to USA one that has been failing for the last 2 years.
Talk/read less about the srilankan ethnic issue which I was doing a lot during 2008. Its just too dragging and I have strong appetite to read about it so I’m planning to reduce that appetite.
Increase my blogs viewers base and posts more on tech rather than on politics. It would be hard since 2009 is a election year in India.
I thought loosing the weight would be the hardest but eventually that was not hard but to control my appetite to read the Srilanka issue was the hardest. Still I read about it here and then but I have completely stopped my urge to blog about it.
